Hi lovely friends,

Wow that was a lot of photos! But I challenge you to only take a few photos with a giant balloon on the beach! It’s addictive!

So, it’s been a while, and some of you have guessed correctly, that we are expecting another Stewart baby in our family! Yay!!!!

And yes, only one this time! I’ve had two ultrasounds, and it looks pretty definite!

We are thrilled as we have been hoping for this for quite a while! I will be 16 weeks tomorrow and bub is due on June 1st next year.

We were wondering how to ‘announce’ the pregnancy…as that has become quite the thing these days, and I’m not sure where I got it from or why, but I thought a family shoot with a giant white balloon would be a fun idea.

I thought it was kinda obvious, but as we were driving to the beach with a 1m x 1m helium balloon claiming shot gun and me in the back with the kids, Pete innocently asked…’So whats with the balloon?’

I’m sure he was just messing with me, but it got me thinking that it might not be as straight forward as I had first thought.

As we were playing and running with this huge balloon on the beach however, and looking back at the photos, it was so clear (at least to us), that it looked like this little person was playing with us all… like Tori was taking the baby for a run or mummy sitting thinking about it, or it was just hanging out with all of us.

But if it wasn’t that clear….the balloon was like our little bub. 😜

Now to the real question…

At 19 weeks we can find out the gender….

Should we find out?

At first we thought that this is the perfect time in our family to have a surprise, as we have both male and female, have all the clothes, and it really wouldn’t make much difference to our preparations…

However, we are now thinking that it might be nice to prepare the twins (and us), so we all can get used to the idea etc… (They both thought it was a boy AND a girl for a long time, but I’ve finally convinced them it’s only one baby lol) Also, we feel it might be better to bond with the baby if we know the gender earlier…

Any thoughts, ideas or experiences with having a surprise, or not…and how did the siblings react?

Thanks for joining me,

  1. i think you can handle a surprise. you already have 1 of each. i am due in 6 days and i am having a surprise. we are still bonding with our baby. we just gave our baby a nickname so we can call our baby other then it or baby.
